We are seeking a full-time designer to join our team at our Brookpark location. **Job description** National Office, a fast growing furniture dealership, is looking for a full-time Interior Designer. The designer will work with both Account Execs and clients to design, specify and order commercial furniture projects of varying sizes. Candidates must have the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess good written and verbal communication skills. A Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in Interior Design, is required **Duties** Develop floor plans, Produce drawings, 2D/3D, prepare specifications, interior renderings and furniture quotes Conducts and organizes product research Maintains effective communication with project team members Assist with furniture selection, interior finishes Maintains National Offices design library Attend site visits including field measurements and customer presentations
Whoever thought that walls and doors could go out of style? Apparently, thats what has happened at offices nationwide. Seven in 10 American offices now have an open floor plan, rather than cubicles or private rooms. The open office aims to boost creativity, productivity and collaboration by making it easy for employees to interact. But that hasnt been the case for everybody. A study published this summer by researchers at Harvard Business School found that in-person interactions actually dropped more than 70 percent after workers moved from a cubicle to an open-plan workspace.
